NJ Chapter of the Zeitgeist Movement is Proud to be a part of The Sustainable Living Conference The Conference will address the question: how to use our own
values and experiences to inspire others to form healthy, sustainable
communities. The event is free and open to the public. The Sustainable Living Conference More detail “Sustainable
Living Empowerment and Enrichment Conference” Saturday, June 15, 2013, in
Smith Hall of The Rutgers Newark campus of Rutgers University, 101 Warren
Street, Newark, NJ 07102,
the Sustainable Living Empowerment and Enrichment Conference presents 20
speakers from a variety of disciplines. The speakers will address the question:
how to use their own values and experiences to inspire others to form
healthy, sustainable communities. The event is free and open to the public,
and lasts from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. The purpose of the conference is
to inspire and empower attendees, so they become active participants toward
the goal of building healthy, sustainable communities. The speakers will use
their own experiences and values to convey how they have been driven by their
passions to various achievements. From urban farming to wellness to solar
technology and climate change, the speakers will share information and
experiences that assist with the creation of sustainable communities.
Empowerment is a multidimensional social process that helps people gain
control over their own lives. It is a process that fosters power in people
for use in their own lives, communities and in society by acting on issues
they define as important. The event was organized by
members of the Newark Community Garden Coalition with the support of the
Greater Newark Conservancy, Newark Science and Sustainability Working Group,
and Essex County 4-H. The Newark Community Garden Coalition (NCGC) is a
coalition of gardeners and urban farmers. Taking the approach of social entrepreneurship,
they work to enrich the overall quality of life in Newark, New Jersey by
developing, supporting and promoting city gardens, produce farms and other

‘TZM Sign Party’ Saturday
12/15/12 between 12 noon to 4PM. We'll
take a bunch of wood planks and sheet metal and make ‘YouTube Zeitgeist
Addendum’ signs. Don't
worry about the Weather, we'll be warm indoors. The
‘TZM Sign Party’ will be held at: Ductworks Inc. 434 W Front St. Plainfield, NJ 07060 The
shop entrance is around the corner on Washington Ave. Second
driveway on the right. We
do have materials, but we could always use more. Bring some.
If
you don't bring any, so what?, bring
yourself. Come
on out and get active! |

TZM Conference call - 9PM October 17th - New members only
Recently some have shown interest in becoming more involved in
the NJ Chapter of the Zeitgeist Movement.
This is great and we invite them to join us. We will get started with a conference call
so that we can all speak in person. ·
There are no Marching orders in TZM NJ. We only take what you give us. ·
There is no hierarchy in our organization. ·
This call is only a meet and greet. No plans will be made for upcoming events. Let's get together and talk. Our booth at the ‘Yoga by the Sea’ festival in Asbury
Park happened on 9/23 and went well. We did a good job spreading the word, handing out 325 DVDs!! Thanks to Brian and Vince for supplying those. Thanks to Elliot for being so aggressive
with the One Planet Project. Emails
have been delivered to OPP Central. We had a canopy, rug, tables and chairs and large signs. We hooked ‘em
with free water and apples then put Addendum and Moving Forward in their
hands. Yoga brains are receptive to our message. We will seek out more. |
